Hilltop School Key Stage 4 Curriculum
The focus of the Key Stage 4 curriculum at Hilltop is to use our school ICE drivers
(Independence, Communication and Experience & Engagement) to promote independence and foster skills to enable our students to engage with and be active citizens in their community.
Through a range of work related and life skills our students will develop experience in a range of environments and have opportunities to use knowledge and practically apply skills.
The Key Stage 4 curriculum aims to assist our students’ transition from an adult led programme to a more practical based curriculum, valuing and developing independence, in preparation for further education, vocational and work related learning and leisure opportunities which they are likely to encounter in adult life.
For our more complex learners, our Key Stage 4 curriculum gives opportunities to engage and experience and have visibility and inclusion within their school and local community.
Key Stage 4 students follow the ASDAN Transition Challenge accreditation preparatory programme.
