School Improvement Plan (SiP)
Developed from the SEF and the focus of our work for the year.
Key Actions (not included above)
Ensuring continued quality of educational experience for up to 114 students
Continue work on Numicon and consistent use throughout the school
Begin curriculum driven by Cornerstones themes KS1-3
Development of internal spaces including development of ‘workshop’ and learning house
Greater rigour and new processes to secure progress and learning by permanent SLT team
New initiatives including workshops to support parents linked to Key workers (Family support worker?)
Refresh/update referral process to other agencies to ensure positive outcomes for vulnerable learners
Staff training programme around PMLD, ASC and wider educational initiatives
Staff training to focus on core skills for all/new staff
Development of outdoor learning areas and programmes
Ensure health & behaviour policies and plans in place, robust and updated.
Governors involved directly in quality assurance processes and key areas of SIP
Flexibility of Teaching and Learning team linked to pupil progress
Phonics policies and systems linked to reading skills (including symbols)
Attendance of Pupils (and staff support for illness/time off)
TAs supporting learning – training
New Level 3 TAs
Student voice
Extended services development across Nexus
Residentials (focus on PMLD)
Introduce end of year reports with photographic information/story
Workbooks for maths, literacy, PSHE and ‘topic’ linked to assessment, progress and marking policy

External view on our progress toward goals – Nexus, ROSI and Learners 1st
Extended ‘core business cycle’ to include formal learning walks, termly teacher sheets and workbooks
Investment in ICT – Eye gaze, Ipads and laptops plus infrastructure
Internal/external moderation from EYFS onward
EYFS to work on creation of moderated data, graphs to examine and ensure progress
Examine possibility of post 19 provision
Extend 6th Form accreditation and offer
Extend number of places potentially on offer 2019
