World Book Day 2020
As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage pupil interest in reading, the school is having a WORLD BOOK day on
Thursday 5th March.
On this special day, your child can come to school dressed as a favourite character from any book,
please don’t send any props with your child as we can’t promise they won’t be lost or broken.
A donation of £1 would be welcomed and any money raised will go towards supporting our Literacy department.
During the day our students will be participating in lots of exciting activities, sharing their own favourite book from home, sharing teacher’s favourite books, taking part in a sensory story telling experience in the library and staff will be
delivering exciting sensory stories to classes.
It would be good to discuss with your child different characters from their favourite books.
Again, the dressing up possibilities are endless: Postman Pat, Oliver Twist, Fantastic Mr Fox,
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Danny- Champion of the World, Matilda, Goldilocks,
Jack and the Beanstalk, The Twits, Cinderella, Gruffalo, Elmer the Elephant, Three little Pigs, Harry Potter etc…
Reading different books with your child, in preparation would be great!
So get thinking and reading!
We look forward to seeing students dressed up for the special day on Thursday 5th March.
